Since the 1990’s, Viribus co-founder Bob Eskew has dreamed of using virtual reality (VR) as a rehabilitative therapy tool for people with chronic disabilities. A board-certified pediatric physical therapist, Bob believed strongly in VR’s therapy potential...he just needed VR technology to catch up. Viribus co-founder Brent Wheelbarger has worked in the VR/AR space for the past six years, but he’s known Bob for the past three decades. Bob was Brent’s boy scout leader as a kid (and years later Brent was scoutmaster for Bob’s son). Brent connected the latest VR tech with Bob’s dream of VR therapy. They joined forces with Viribus co-founder Tony Matthews, a longtime friend and student of Bob and board-certified neurologic specialist focused on movement performance enhancement for both pediatric and adult populations. Together, the three are developing a revolution in home therapy for people with chronic disabilities...bringing a little fun to neuroplasticity.
